Mosquitoes

DON'T LET MOSQUITOES SUCK THE FUN OUT OF YOUR SUMMER!

With our coastal areas and mangrove swamps ideal breeding places, mosquitoes are a major problem across Brisbane and southern Queensland. With the concern about mosquito-borne diseases, mosquito control has never been more important. Mosquitoes can carry diseases and parasites including Ross River Fever, Dengue Fever, Malaria and Heartworm (in dogs), all of which can be very debilitating.

However, for many it is the simple annoyance of mosquitoes. Or at the very least, with their persistent buzzing and biting, can turn a usually fun afternoon of kids soccer or a family BBQ into an unpleasant experience and have you running for the sanctuary of the indoors. Frontline Pest Management have developed a range of mosquito control techniques to allow you to reclaim the outdoors from mosquitoes.

If this is happening to you, then its time to call in the professionals.  Frontline Pest Management will carry out a thorough inspection to the property advising of any control measures to be taken which are necessary as part of an overall effective pest management strategy.

Mosquito control from the experts

If you are experiencing problems with Mosquitoes, Frontline Pest Management will carry out a Mosquito treatment to the property – a band spray to the external perimeter of the house, as well as to trees and bushes where mosquitoes rest.  This treatment will last up to 6 weeks and will give you immediate relief.

Mosquito control for homeowners

Although many homeowners tackle occasional or light mosquito problems with supermarket products, when the mosquito population explodes the problem can be overwhelming. Our outdoor mosquito treatment around the perimeter of the property, together with mosquito prevention tips can make your mosquito problems a thing of the past.

Mosquito prevention tips

Many mosquito varieties breed in fresh or brackish water.  They will breed up in anything that will hold free water including plastic containers, bottles, cans, plants, watering dishes, tree hollows, open rainwater tanks, guttering, ponds, tyres and tarps.

If you find an item on your property which collects water, empty it.  If you have a fish pond, stock it with fish which are known to feed on the mosquito larvae. Of course, not all mosquitoes which end up in your property have been breeding in your backyard. Many will fly in from saltwater marshes or similar habitats. Local councils generally treat these areas to keep the population to a minimum, however they cannot stop them breeding altogether.

Our Mosquito treatment

Our general pest treatment does not cover mosquitoes, as mosquito control requires special products and equipment. Although nothing can be done to stop mosquitoes flying into your property, our Mosquito treatment is designed to target the mosquitoes where they land and rest. Mosquitoes prefer to rest in sheltered areas, especially during the day. By carrying out a complete treatment of mosquito resting areas, we create an interception barrier, controlling the mosquitoes before they get to you!

If your mosquito problem is an ongoing problem, rather than an “one-off” outbreak, a regular treatment program may be required to keep the mosquito numbers down so you can enjoy outdoor entertaining.
